Keyboard commands:


Please note: Terms in squared brackets represent the keys on your keyboard, terms in quotes represent the buttons in the program.


[F1] Shows the User's Guide of WinCalc PRO.
[F2] Scales the user interface of WinCalc PRO between three sizes:

1.) Shows the input area, the virtual paper tape, the memory area and the option buttons (standard view).
2.) Shows the input area and the virtual paper tape.
3.) Shows the input area.

The size of the WinCalc PRO window can also be scaled by clicking on the operator indicator which is located right to the input area.
[F5] Moves the WinCalc PRO window to the upper left hand corner of the screen.
[F6] / [F7] [F6] changes the colour of the display, [F7] changes the colour of the user interface. Press [F8] to restore the standard colour scheme.
[F9] Sets the starting parameters:
Saves the desktop position and the size of the WinCalc PRO window. The settings will be restored next time you launch the program. Further you can determine if WinCalc PRO should be started in the system tray or maximized.
[F10] Sets and saves the formatting for numbers displayed on the tape and in the input area:
e.g. 1234 (unformatted number), 1,234.00 (formatted number).
[F11] Prints the virtual paper tape.
[F12] Quits WinCalc PRO and closes down the program.
If the program is closed by the "X"-button or by using the shortcut [Alt] + [F4] it still remains in the system tray.
[Ctrl] + [+] By simultaneously pressing [Control] and [+] (on the keypad), the calculator can be minimized to the system tray. By default, the system tray is located in the Windows taskbar left to the system clock. If WinCalc PRO is minimized, the program can be maximized by again pressing [Control] and [+] or by clicking on the WinCalc PRO icon in the system tray. A double click on the icon shows WinCalc PRO, a right click shows a menu which enables you to maximize or to close down the program.
[Page up / down] Scrolls the virtual paper tape up or down.
[Right Arrow Key ] Performs the undo function. Pressing the key for the first time clears the entry displayed in the input area (corresponding to the CE / Clear entry button on a common calculator). Pressing the [Right Arrow Key] for several times, undoes the previous calculation steps.
[C] Cancels the current calculation without clearing the memories M1-M5 and the virtual paper tape. Pressing [C] for a second time additionally clears the tape.
[ESC] Cancels the current calculation and clears the virtual paper tape and the memories M1-M5.
[M] / [R] Memory function: Pressing [M] + [1-5] stores the current subtotal in the memory. Pressing [R] + [1-5] recalls the value from the memory and places it into the input area.
Please note: Use the "Quicksave" key to save the memory entries permanently.
[P] / [%] Percentage calculations:
150 + 20 percent: 150 [+] 20 [P] [Enter] = 180
30 percent of 120: 120 [P] 30 [Enter] = 36
[D] Computes the percentage of change between two values:
[D] first value [Enter] second value [Enter] e.g.: [D] 120 [Enter] 156 [Enter] = 30%
[T] Sales tax function (TAX+ / TAX-)

Example:
net sum=200, tax rate=20%, gross sum=?   200 [+] [T] [Enter] = 240
gross sum=240, tax rate=20%, net sum=?   240 [-] [T] [Enter] = 200
The tax rate has to be stored in the memory M1.
[V] Changes the sign. Example: 1 [V] = -1
[W] Square root. Example: 9 [W] = 3
[Enter] Calculates and displays a subtotal and prints it on the virtual paper tape. The calculation can be continued.
[Enter] x 2 Prints the total on the virtual paper tape and finalizes the calculation.
[Spacebar] Manually operated rounding of the current subtotal (calculated by pressing 1x [Enter]). The results are rounded up or down to the number of decimal places (0, 1, 2, 3 and 4) selected with the "<" / ">" buttons. WinCalc PRO also supports the "Rappen-Rounding", which is common in Switzerland. On the virtual paper tape, a rounded value is indicated by "«".
